Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year
Wow, can’t believe another year has almost passed. 2018 started with our BIG boat project, to replace our 30 year old teak deck with new teak at Boat Lagoon, Phuket, Thailand. In March we finally came back into the water and enjoyed three weeks in Langkawi, Malaysia. April and part of May was spent on the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, finding some beautiful sea shells. After 17 days sail, sometimes in rough conditions we arrived at lovely Rodrigues by end of May. Two weeks later, after visiting the land living tortoises, we sailed over to Mauritius were we stayed anchored for almost two months in Grand Bay. Mid August we set sail for a short hop over to Reunion. Three weeks of boat maintenance. First week of September we sailed to the NW coast of Madagascar. After five wonderful weeks in this paradise filled with whales, lemures and a nice underwater world, we spent 5 days sailing to the Island of Bazaruto, Mocambique. 6 windy days later we finally got the right weather to sail to Richards Bay, South Africa.
We’re still in South Africa, in Simons Town, a forty min drive south of Cape Town and are now back to the Atlantic Ocean. Here we are waiting for a good wind to start taking us north towards the Canary Islands.
We wish our families and all our friends a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We have been following all your adventures closely and are so glad that you reached RSA safely.
have a happy (and warm) Xmas and best wishes for your 2019 voyage.
